A salmonella outbreak linked to cashew butter has affected many young children in Germany and Austria, with 52 cases reported in Germany and 13 in Austria. The outbreak is connected to Salmonella Infantis, typically found in contaminated chicken. Health officials have recalled the raspberry-flavored cashew butter sold in supermarkets. The ECDC warns that infants and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk. The product was also sold in several other countries, but no cases have been reported there yet.
