Seven skeletons found in a mass grave in Croatia are believed to be Roman soldiers from 1,700 years ago. Discovered in 2011 at the site of the ancient city of Mursa (modern-day Osijek), the skeletons showed various injuries and were likely victims of the violent era of the Roman Empire. Researchers determined their age, height, diet, and health conditions, suggesting they suffered from pulmonary disease and had a mixed ancestry. The findings indicate they may have died during the 'Crisis of the Third Century' and were buried in a well, which was not a common practice for the Romans. Teljes cikk (bbc.com europe)
