Czech power company CEZ has partnered with Rolls-Royce SMR to develop small modular nuclear reactors, acquiring a 20% stake in the company. The first reactor may be operational by the early 2030s at the Temelin nuclear plant, contributing to energy security in the Czech Republic. CEZ aims to install up to 3 GW of energy sources and plans further collaboration with Rolls-Royce SMR globally. The Czech Republic is transitioning from coal to nuclear and renewable energy by 2033.
