Bilateral trade between Spain and Russia has significantly decreased due to the sanctions imposed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Spanish exports to Russia fell from €2.2 billion in 2021 to €783 million in 2022, a decline of over 64%. The number of Spanish companies exporting to Russia has also dropped sharply. Despite sanctions, some imports from Russia, particularly LNG and fertilizers, have increased, raising concerns about dependency on Russian goods.
