Automotive Cells (ACC) has decided to halt plans for battery gigafactories in Italy and Germany due to slower growth in electric vehicle demand. The Italian metalworkers' union UILM confirmed the shelving of the Termoli project, and ACC is considering shutting down both projects. The company, backed by Stellantis, is exploring a shift to cheaper battery technology and is in discussions with unions regarding the potential shutdown.
