Andrej Plenković, the Croatian Prime Minister, announced the tenth economic protection package created since 2020 due to rising energy prices caused by tensions in the Hormuz Strait. The government will intervene in the fuel market by partially reducing excise taxes, limiting retail margins, and increasing regulated prices. New regulated prices will take effect on Tuesday, with exceptions for highway gas stations. The price of liquefied propane-butane gas will also rise but remain below market levels.
