Sweden is set to implement the EU's 2023 pay transparency directive, requiring companies to disclose salary information in job ads and prohibiting inquiries about candidates' pay history. The aim is to combat pay discrimination and close the gender pay gap, which is currently 12% in the EU and 11.2% in Sweden. The Swedish government plans to present a bill in January 2026, with expectations of exceeding minimum EU requirements. A survey shows 42% of Swedes support salary transparency, although individual salaries won't be accessible. Other EU countries are also working on similar legislation. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
