The VeloSolex, a legendary French moped, became a symbol of France and remains popular today, thanks to a family-run manufactory in Berettyóújfalu, Hungary. Initially launched in 1946, it thrived in post-WW2 France due to its affordability and practicality. After the original production ceased in 1988, Sándor Gáthy-Kiss attempted to revive it in Hungary, but faced challenges leading to bankruptcy. Sándor Szebenyi later took over, focusing on manufacturing spare parts, and the VeloSolex continues to have a nostalgic appeal, with many still in use and cherished by their owners.
