Starting February 1, 2026, tourists in Rome will need to pay a €2 entrance fee to see the Trevi Fountain up close. The fees will help fund city maintenance, with an expected annual revenue of €6.5 million. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri stated that the fee will help manage tourist flow. Residents will have free access to certain sites, while children under five and those with disabilities will be exempt from the fees. Teljes cikk (bbc.com europe)
