Turkey's MIT captured Mehmet Gören, a senior ISIS-K member, who was planning suicide attacks in Turkey and beyond. He was apprehended at the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and brought to Turkey. The operation revealed ISIS-K's recruitment network and thwarted attack plans. Gören had previously worked with Özgür Altun, another ISIS-K operative. A warning from Ankara's Gendarmerie indicated potential attacks on New Year's Eve in crowded areas. Additionally, 10 suspects were detained in a financial investigation related to ISIS.
