JMW Turner’s earliest oil painting, 'The Rising Squall, Hot Wells, from St Vincent’s Rock, Bristol', will be displayed at Sotheby’s in London before auctioning. The painting, lost for over 150 years, depicts a stormy scene in Bristol and showcases Turner’s talent at just 17 years old. It will be on display from 28 June to 1 July 2025, with an estimated auction value of £200,000-300,000.
