An outbreak of severe food poisoning in Saint-Quentin, northern France, has resulted in the death of a 12-year-old girl and hospitalization of seven other children. Symptoms began on June 12, with concerns linked to meat from two local butchers, which have been closed for investigation. The girl died from haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS) associated with E.coli.
