An open letter from 182 staff members criticized the RBO's silence on Israel's actions and its decision to stage Turandot in Israel. The letter also referenced a protest by performer Daniel Perry, who displayed a Palestinian flag during a performance, leading to a confrontation with RBO's Director of Opera, Oliver Mears.
