On August 15, 1929, Spanish doctor Jerónimo Megías embarked on the first round-the-world flight in the Graf Zeppelin. The journey, which lasted 20 days, was a success, stopping in Tokyo and Los Angeles before returning to Germany. Alejandro Polanco has published a book detailing this historic event, featuring restored images and Megías' travel diary. The book highlights the luxurious amenities of the airship and the public's excitement for the flight, which was sponsored by media mogul William Randolph Hearst. The Graf Zeppelin symbolized an era before the rise of the Nazis and the decline of zeppelins after the Hindenburg disaster. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
