The US has imposed new sanctions on Sudan, accusing its military government of using chemical weapons against opponents in the civil war. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that Sudan violated the Chemical Weapons Convention. The sanctions will restrict American exports and access to US loans, following previous sanctions on RSF leader Hemedti and military leader al-Burhan due to war crimes.
