Verona, Italy is testing smart sensor technology at the busy Porta Nuova intersection to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance road safety. The system, developed by South Korean start-up bitsensing, utilizes millimetre wave radar and AI to monitor traffic patterns and manage traffic lights effectively. The pilot project aims to gather data for better urban mobility and is aligned with Verona's ecological transition plan to reduce emissions. The project is expected to continue until the end of 2024.
