Vienna has exceeded its refugee care quota by 208%, with around 31,000 people receiving basic welfare, significantly more than the federal allocation. The majority of those entitled to subsidiary protection are Syrians and Afghans. Vienna provides higher welfare benefits, attracting more refugees, including a notable number of Ukrainians.
