Volkswagen and SAIC will close their joint plant in Nanjing, China, with production ceasing and a gradual shutdown expected in the second half of the year. The plant, opened in 2008, produced up to 360,000 vehicles annually, including the VW Passat and Skoda Superb. Production of the Passat will move to Yizheng. The closure aligns with VW's shift towards electric vehicle production and digitalization plans for the Chinese market. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
