Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, visited Serbia as part of her tour of the Western Balkans to discuss EU enlargement. She met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, emphasizing the need for Serbia to accelerate its EU membership process and align more closely with EU foreign policy. Von der Leyen acknowledged progress in Serbia's voter registries and media regulation but stressed the importance of reforms and civil society involvement.
