Wero, a new digital wallet under the European Payments Initiative (EPI), has launched in Germany, Belgium, and France, facilitating cross-border payments in Western Europe. Supported by 16 banks, including BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, Wero aims to be the first Pan-European payment solution. Wero offers instant person-to-person transactions and real-time account management, with plans for small business services by 2025. However, it faces challenges in competing with US payment giants and achieving widespread adoption. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
