Whale swims off sandbank after big German rescue effort on Baltic coast

A humpback whale has successfully freed itself from a sandbank near Lübeck, Germany, after multiple rescue attempts. Rescue teams are hopeful it will swim into deeper waters. The whale, measuring 12-15m, was first spotted stranded near Timmendorfer Strand. Diggers were used to create a channel for the whale, which is now being escorted by boats.
