The Uzbek-Hungarian Potato Research Centre was established in 2021 to address potato production challenges in Uzbekistan, where rising demand has outpaced local supply. Hungarian researchers aim to transfer knowledge and technology to improve potato cultivation in Uzbekistan, while also exploring business opportunities for Hungarian potato varieties. Despite initial skepticism from the press, the project has led to further agricultural collaborations in Central Asia.
