In 2014, 26% of EU citizens aged 25–74 had higher education, rising to 33.5% by 2024. Ireland, Luxembourg, and Cyprus lead with over 60% of young adults holding degrees, while Romania has the lowest at under 30%. Younger adults (25–34) are nearly twice as likely to have higher education compared to older adults (55–74).
