A US government study found that certain cancers are increasingly diagnosed in people under 50, with 14 out of 33 cancer types showing rising rates. However, experts suggest this may be due to overdiagnosis rather than a true increase in deadly diseases. While some cancers have seen doubled diagnoses since 1992, mortality rates have remained stable, indicating many cases may not be harmful. Exceptions exist for colorectal and endometrial cancers, which have shown slight increases in deaths. The study warns against framing early-onset cancer as an epidemic, as it may lead to unnecessary emotional and financial burdens on patients. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
