In Greece's Corinthia region, firefighters and volunteers are battling a severe wildfire that has lasted three days, resulting in two fatalities and significant forest damage. Assistance has been pledged from other EU countries, with Croatia and Italy sending planes. The fire service reported over 400 firefighters and 22 aircraft are involved. This wildfire season began unusually early in April and has been marked by a record number of wildfires, with this being one of the most challenging. Local resident Antonis Kakavitsos noted the destruction's similarity to the devastating wildfires of 2000. The situation is worsened by global warming and prolonged drought. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
