The competition for the headquarters of the EU Customs Authority (EUCA) is heating up, with Warsaw positioning itself as a strong candidate due to its existing infrastructure and geopolitical significance. Other contenders include cities like Liège, Malaga, Lille, Zagreb, Rome, The Hague, Porto, and Bucharest. Key arguments for Warsaw include its proximity to Frontex, logistical advantages, and the potential for economic growth. The EUCA aims to create a unified Customs Data Hub to improve efficiency and security in customs operations across the EU. The final decision on the location will be made in March 2026.
