The European Commission plans to disburse funds from its €150 billion defence loan scheme to member states for procuring European-made military equipment in early next year. The SAFE loans will assist 19 member states, with Poland receiving the largest share. Member states must submit detailed investment plans by November 30, and the goal is to finalize loan agreements soon after. The scheme aims to enhance defence readiness and includes strict eligibility criteria for equipment. Additional funding mechanisms are also being considered for future defence needs.
