The UK’s MI6 has appointed its first female chief, Blaise Metreweli, announced by Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Metreweli, a career intelligence officer, will succeed Richard Moore. Starmer called the appointment historic, emphasizing the importance of intelligence services amid rising threats.
