Hungary is preparing to introduce small modular reactors (SMRs) through an agreement between Hunatom and Polish firm Synthos Green Energy. SMRs are seen as a viable alternative to large nuclear plants, meeting industrial energy demands reliably and environmentally. The technology allows for faster deployment and has a passive safety system. However, uncertainties remain regarding its maturity and regulatory challenges. The agreement also strengthens diplomatic relations with the U.S. Teljes cikk (Magyarnemzet)
